This is a line image I drew of a koi fish swimming by a lilly pad. I used basic shapes to represent the water as well as keep the image all one shape. As bold as the koi fish itself seems, it it all connected as one.

I used the pen tool to make the outlines of my image. The pen tool gave me very smooth precise lines that worked well. The lines will eventually be separated as water, the lilly pad, and the fish on different files in order to get them cut on to different color paper.
