LIVE TRACE PROJECT #1
I found this photo on Google images.
I chose to do a Live Trace image of mushrooms since I liked the idea from the demonstration. I think I achieved a kind of psychedelic color scheme. Also the shapes looked interesting to work with using the Live Paint tool. I think my use of the gradient tool showed depth in the picture.
LIVE TRACE PROJECT #2
I took this picture of my kitten with my phone, I thought the light in the picture looked really good. I also added a filter and increased the contrast for better quality.
From my above photograph, I drew this from visual reference, attempting to use different line thickness to show depth. The eye is my favorite part and I'm pretty happy with this drawing. I used a mechanical pencil to sketch where everything should be, then outlined everything in sharpie and added smaller details with a felt tip pen.
To compare how closely I represented the photograph I placed the drawing on top of the real image and decreased the opacity.
As you can see, I was a little off on the nose. I think I had everything else pretty close to my photograph.
This is my final project from Illustrator. I used the Live Trace tool on my drawing I opened and the Live Paint tool with the gradient tool and different opacities to try to achieve a picture with depth, interesting colors and interesting, eye-catching shadows.
