Juxtaposition

The four images below are basically abstract subjects they appear to blend into the space of their environment.

This first image is a metal planet created warping 2 metal textures into a sphere-like shape. A portion of the planet was raised to add some detail. The planes were added to show the scale of the planet.
This is simply a pipe from Super Mario Bros. hidden within a forest. I just slightly changed the hue of the pipe and gave it a cast shadow so it blends within its environment.
In order to make this giant space cruiser blend with the mountains, I just darkened the ship itself and created a cast shadow that covered a large proportion of the mountains. I then used the warp tool to make the shadow curve with the mountains.

This is simply an island carried by a hot air balloon. To give the island some mass so it didn't look flat, I warped a dirt texture, added cast shadows and placed it underneath the island. To show that the hot air balloon was attatched to the island, I drew visible strings with the brush tool. I felt that all the photos that I used were well blended together as they were, so I didn't modify them.
